Alberta Health Services - Edmonton & Area is one of the largest integrated academic health regions in Canada, providing complete health services to over one million people in Edmonton and the surrounding counties of Sturgeon, Strathcona, Leduc Parkland and Yellowhead.

In addition to emergency and acute care, Edmonton & Area also provides home care services, outreach programs, continuing care, public health, specialty clinics and numerous rehabilitation and prevention programs.

Edmonton & Area also provides specialized services, such as trauma and burn treatment, organ transplants, and high-risk obstetrics, to a total of 1.6 million people across central and northern Alberta and Western and Northern Canada.
