Responsibilities/Duties:
Generalist Public Health Nurse required based out of the Strathmore Public Health office for a 0.79 FTE one-year temporary position to start on September 27, 2010. Responsibilities include the generalist role of Public Health Nursing (working with Maternal, infant, child, school, and adult health, immunization for all age groups, breastfeeding support, health promotion initiatives and communicable disease follow-up).
Qualifications:
Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse in good standing with CARNA. Public Health Nursing experience REQUIRED (Experience with Immunizations for all age groups, post-natal follow-up, breastfeeding, school health, health promotion, communicable disease follow-up, etc.). Good assessment skills required. Strong knowledge of infant/child growth and development and be able to develop or have a good understanding of community resources and supports available to families. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrates strong abilities to work independently and in a team environment. Requires a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Please note this position is located approximately 45 km east of the Calgary city limits.
