Please note that the location for this position is negotiable between Calgary and Edmonton.
Reporting to the Manager, Web Collaboration, the Senior SharePoint Developer will provide leadership around new and emerging SharePoint development and integration with other technical tools and systems. The successful candidate will be passionate about SharePoint technology and have a desire to design & build solutions which will change the way our clients do business.
Responsibilities include: Provides leadership in supporting SharePoint systems on a province wide basis to ensure the environments are operating effectively and efficiently Develop technical specifications based on functional requirements Develop test plans and provide quality assurance on all SharePoint development Design, create and maintain sites, views, queries, lists & workflow Build the SharePoint look and feel Lead efforts to modify SharePoint templates as needed Build new Web Parts Write Microsoft ASP.NET code Participate in development and testing as needed Implement standards & development methodology Develop end user training plans Provide thought leadership to projects with medium to high risk, complexity, potentially including responsibility for expenditure monitoring and cost control Leads the coordination effort with cross functional teams (technical, systems, business, vendors, etc.) to assess problem scope, impact, and characteristics and identifies causes to make appropriate decisions on resolution or interim work around Responsible for smooth deployment and transition to operations. Planning and implementing software version upgrade releases Troubleshooting and debugging SharePoint applications Working as a consultant on SharePoint customization projects.
Specific Requirements Include: A solid understanding of business workflows and capabilities of SharePoint Designer 2007/2010, Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, and InfoPath forms Exposure to alternatives for developing mobile applications on the SharePoint platform. Installing and configuring SharePoint forms SharePoint development in both Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer Experience with Deployment, Staging, and Publishing of SharePoint portal Experience with all areas of the Software Development Life Cycle Strong customer interaction skills and ability to understand and document customer needs from a business solutions perspective. Understand and implement QA procedures (Code review, Estimating, Peer review, Impact Analysis, Root cause analysis, etc.). Critical thinking, problem solving, design, and most critically, attention to performance, scalability, reliability, availability at the system and component level Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects. Must be able to deliver as a development lead for business application development projects. Contribute to development team growth through strong team interactions, be comfortable accepting feedback, positive and negative, and be driven by both time constraints and a personal commitment to quality. Ability to work on call.
Position Location is “NEGOTIABLE”
At least 5+ years experience architecting, implementing and supporting Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 and/or Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 solutions Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role. BA or BS degree in Computer Science or a related field or related experience Excellent knowledge of programming / systems analysis, as well as quality assurance, prototyping, construction, integration, and migration functions Good problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve technical problems; possesses an excellent understanding of business requirements and IT strategies Possess strong MS platform knowledge and skills including Microsoft BizTalk, MSMQ, Web Services, Remoting), Microsoft Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration technologies (SharePoint Portal Server / Windows SharePoint Services, Content Management Server, Unified Communications Server (Lync), Microsoft Groove Server 2010). Full lifecycle experience in architecting large scale scalable applications. Possess knowledge and experience in developing, customizing and implementing software solutions. Strong customer service skills and demonstrated the ability to build professional relationships. Good communication skills with the ability to communicate (verbally and written) to all levels of the business Microsoft SQL Server Database, Analysis, Integration and Reporting Services ASP .NET and client web development (XML, XSL, ASP .NET, AJAX, HTML, Java Script) Familiarly with ITIL Incident and Change Management Procedures in an enterprise environment.
This position falls under the Career Stream allocation of P4. Minimum: $77,500 to Maximum $116,000 annually.
