Reporting to the Clinical Practice Manager – North, the Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) maintains a clinical practice in their area of specialty, fosters clinical pharmacy practice development, and contributes to the advancement of clinical practice. The CPL is recognized as an expert clinical practitioner, and serves as a resource for an area of specialty. A key component of this position includes providing clinical support, education, training and mentorship to pharmacy staff in Northern Alberta (defined as former Capital, Aspen, Peace and Northern Lights regions). Advancement of clinical practice is achieved through developing and ensuring implementation of clinical policies, procedures and standards as well as research or scholarly contributions to the medical and pharmacy literature. The CPL functions as a leader, mentor, and change agent. Duties may involve travel within the area of responsibility.
Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a P4-2. Minimum $77,500.00 to a maximum $116,000.00 annually.
B.Sc. Pharmacy from a recognized School of Pharmacy is required and completion of a hospital residency is preferred. Post-graduate degree in clinical pharmacy (Pharm D) is an additional asset. An equivalent combination of baccalaureate degree and clinical experience will be considered. Eligibility for licensure with the Alberta College of Pharmacists is a requirement and membership with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacist is preferred. The successful candidate must also possess: proven leadership abilities, an understanding of basic concepts of adult learning, strong verbal and written communication skills, project management skills in order to plan, develop and implement new programs, ability to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient care, and basic computer skills.
