The Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is a metropolitan hospital with over 600 inpatient beds. It is also the main site for urology and ophthalmology specialties. RGH is located next to the scenic Glenmore Reservoir in Southwest Calgary.

RGH Primary Allied Health department works collaboratively with all clinical teams: Emergency, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical units, and Transition Units (47, 56, & 59). We are a multi-disciplinary department representing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Therapy Assistants, and Spiritual Care.

Staff hired into the Allied Health department may be required to work in a variety of settings across the hospital, as workload demands.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Allied Health, and the Clinical Leader, the incumbent provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist. The job also entails non patient care activities to support the efficiency of Rehabilitation Services. A flexible proactive learner with the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands is essential to this role.
  • Graduate of a recognized Therapist Assistant Diploma program.
  • Current CPR BCLS certification required.
  • 1 - 3 years therapist assistant experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources and to set appropriate work priorities.
