The Social Worker II is a member of the new Integrated Justice Services Program (IJSP) team, a multi disciplinary group of professionals working with offenders who are considered to be high risk to re-offend. The offenders have been sentenced to a community based disposition and are therefore residing in the community. Reporting to the AHS manager of the IJSP, this position works in collaboration with the team in addressing the complex addiction, mental health and community living needs of the client population. As part of the IJSP team, this Social Worker position’s responsibilities include group facilitation, individual and family counselling, and developing and maintaining strong linkages with provincial IJSP, probation, Calgary community resources, and mental health and addictions services.
  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing clinical services to addictions and mental health clients including clinical group facilitation
  • Extensive work with forensic/corrections clients preferred
  • Driver’s license and reliable vehicle

    • Vehicle Required - Required to provide a vehicle for business use; along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business insurance
