Applies a broad perspective and effectively leads a large team of professional, technical, trades and contract staff who maintain and operate all facets of the physical plant including complex mechanical, electrical and critical life safety systems for the FMC campus. Provides mentorship, guidance, training and professional engineering expertise in specialized areas, to identify problems and opportunities within physical plant systems including capital projects. Applies a broad perspective and innovative solutions to complex problems.

Salary/Benefits: This position is classified as a M3-2. Minimum $102,750.00 to maximum $165,000.00 annually.
Bachelor’s degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with professional certification in APEGGA. Engineering building system design or operational experience plus a minimum of 8 years of engineering management experience. This position requires engineering knowledge of hospital design, construction and operation. This knowledge must be interdisciplinary in both electrical engineering and mechanical engineering due to the complex inter-related nature of the power plant systems and building physical plant systems within the FMC. Tremendous complexity exists in hospital building systems and the complexity increases continuously. Additional complexities result when campuses of buildings are continually expanded, mixing old buildings with new buildings and tying their building systems together. Hospitals are the most complex buildings anywhere. In addition the risks to patient safety when systems do not operate properly, or when they fail is very high.
